Located in Gong’an Village, Huwei Township, Yunlin County, this Japanese-style residence was built in 1920 as the official residence of the Huwei District Magistrate. In the early post-war years, it served as a dormitory for judges. Scheduled for demolition in 2000, it was fortunately preserved and later revitalized under the stewardship of the Yunlin Storytellers Association beginning in December 2007. Today, it has been designated as a Historic Building of Yunlin County and is open to the public as the Yunlin Story House, hosting exhibitions and cultural activities that bring new life to this century-old heritage site.
