Yunlin Cycling Routes: “Yunlin Riders” Tour Guide
Route Option 1: Linnei to Huwei (Approx. 21 km)
Start your journey by taking a train to Linnei Station, then visit the Linneiyi Station, now revitalized as a local specialty market. Visit to the Environmental Education Park of Farming and Irrigation , where you can gain insights into Taiwan’s agricultural irrigation heritage.
After cycling about 2 kilometers, you can visit local orange-themed fruit-picking orchards or stop by the iVACADO Recreation Farm and the Linnei Teaching Taro Department. Next, head to the Mingtan Power Plant, where visitors can learn about hydropower generation through guided tours.
Continue to the Chongxing Station(Yunlin Management Office), the designated site for Taiwan National Greenway activities. This spot also provides rest facilities for cyclists. Finally, ride directly to Huwei Township for overnight accommodation and rest, and conclude your journey at Huwei Station.
Route Option 2: Huwei To Tuku (Approx. 36 km)
Start your journey by taking a train to Huwei Railway Station, then visit the historic Huwei Sugar Refinery, an iconic landmark of Taiwan’s sugar industry development.
Continue along the Taiwan National Greenway, enjoying the tranquil rural landscapes as you head south toward Tuku Township, where travelers can experience the charm of traditional agricultural culture.
In Tuku, explore heritage and revitalized rural sites such as the Octagonal Warehouse of the Farmers’ Association, Tuku Wande Hospital, the Wanyuan Traditional Noodle Factory (a century-old brand), Shunchen Oil Mill, Fengcunhang Grocery, and the Le Riz Rice Bakery, which showcases traditional rice processing and DIY experiences.
Take a break at the Old Statiom Rest Stop.
Next, continue to the Nanbeilun Painted Village, part of a rural revitalization project that brings color and creativity to the countryside through wall murals and community art.
End your day by riding back to Huwei Township for overnight accommodation and rest.

Chiayi Cycling Routes: “Chiayi Riders” Tour Guide
Route Option 1: Minxiong to Chiayi City (Approx. 25 km)
Begin your ride by taking a train to Minxiong Railway Station. Your first stop is the Three Little Pigs Tourist Farm, followed by a visit to the charming Cat-Themed Painted Village.
Continue your journey along the Taiwan National Greenway heading north toward the Nanbei Lun Painted Village, a model of rural revitalization. Visit the Ding Cai Yuan Local Museum, which showcases traditional farming life and culture, then proceed to the Bantaoyao park, a center for traditional Koji pottery and cut-and-paste ceramics.
Next, explore the Living Water Ecological Park, a one-hectare natural park developed using CNT (Conservation, Natural, Traditional) farming methods, ideal for an eco-tour experience.
Ride along the greenway to the Puzi River Aqueduct, a preserved irrigation heritage site, and stop by the Wucai Gang Friendly Farm, which emphasizes sustainable agriculture.
Follow the Ma-Yu-Liao section of the greenway, cycling approximately 8 km to Chiayi City for accommodation or end of day rest. Your journey concludes at Chiayi Railway Station.
Route Option 2: Chiayi City to Nanjing Station (Approx. 25 km)
Start at Chiayi Railway Station, heading to the The Solar Exploration Center
, a major landmark representing Taiwan’s position on the Tropic of Cancer.
Ride along the Taiwan National Greenway through Ma-Yu-Liao, and take a break at the bird-watching platform, which offers scenic views and a peaceful rest area.
Continue through Dalun Community, known for its picturesque water reservoir and the Dalun Sugar Park, then proceed to Nanjing Sugar Factory, a site that preserves Taiwan’s sugar production history.
Visit the nearby Nanjing inverted siphon, a rare and fascinating hydraulic engineering artifact, and the Bazhang River Aqueduct, another significant irrigation heritage site. Conclude your ride at Nanjing Railway Station.

Cycling Route (Approx. 50 km)
Begin your journey by taking a train to Nanjing Station. From here, embark on a longer scenic and cultural cycling experience through the heart of Tainan’s rural and irrigation heritage.
Your first stop is the Jingliao Irrigation Sluice Gate, a historical water conservancy structure that represents Taiwan’s early irrigation engineering achievements.
Next, explore the Tugou Rural Art Museum, a unique village where agricultural fields are transformed into artistic expressions. This living museum showcases the fusion of farming life and contemporary art across outdoor installations and local architecture.
Continue to the Lotus Cultural Information Center, which features themed exhibits like “Ode to the Lotus” and “Art of the Lotus.” The center presents a collection of lotus-related poetry, calligraphy, molds, paintings, and handicrafts, reflecting Taiwan’s deep cultural ties to the flower.
Ride onward to the Guichong Creek Aqueduct, a significant part of the region’s irrigation system. Then relax at the Nanyuan Garden Resort Farm, an eco-friendly destination that integrates natural landscapes with traditional rural settings, ideal for family recreation and nature lovers.
Your next highlight is the Wushantou Reservoir Scenic Area, where natural beauty meets infrastructure. This area includes a hydropower station and is closely linked to Taiwan’s modern water resource development.
Nearby, pay tribute to agricultural engineering pioneer Yoichi Hatta at the Yoichi Hatta Memorial Park. Hatta was the visionary behind the Chianan Irrigation System, one of the largest and most influential irrigation projects in East Asia.
Before concluding your ride, visit the Duozaitou Aqueduct, Guantian Canal Aqueduct, and the Zengwen River Aqueduct—all part of the historic Chianan irrigation network and recognized as water conservancy heritage sites.
The tour ends at Xinshi Station, wrapping up a 50 km journey through Tainan’s landscape of history, agriculture, and water infrastructure.
