The Yoichi Hatta Memorial Park, located on the northern side of the Wushantou Reservoir, was established to honor Mr. Yoichi Hatta, the chief engineer behind the construction of the Chianan Irrigation Canal. Officially opened in 2011, the park was designed in the architectural style of Ishikawa Prefecture, Hatta’s hometown in Japan, to faithfully recreate its original ambience. Every year on May 8, the anniversary of his passing, a memorial service is held to commemorate Mr. Yoichi Hatta.
